"When my wife and I decided to convert the old downtown printing house a massive, 2,200 sq. ft. brick behemoth with 14-foot ceilings into a combined photography studio and gallery space, everyone told us the HVAC would be the nightmare. The building is on the historic register, meaning exposed wall units were a non-starter. Our only option was a ducted system, but the structural steel made running bulky, traditional ductwork nearly impossible. Then, we found this Cooper & Hunter 60,000 BTU Slim Duct unit. It wasn't just an HVAC solution; it was a renovation miracle. The "Slim Ducted Hi-Static Indoor Unit" is the true genius here. We were able to tuck the main unit above a custom-built, soundproofed ceiling alcove, connecting it to the existing, impossibly small chases we could utilize. From the floor, you see nothing but elegant, minimalist air grilles. The gallery walls are pristine.
